Foreign investors’ share of Indian equities fell to 16.7% in December 2025 from 17.3% a year earlier, the lowest since 2012, according to Goldman Sachs’ analysis of over 4,000 company filings.
Large-caps were hit hardest, where foreign ownership dropped to its lowest point in a decade, even as mid- and small-cap holdings remained comparatively resilient.
